The 200 Foundation Honoree of the Year
Baystate Brewery & Tap Room
112 Harding Street, Worcester, Massacusetts
Wednesday, October 18, 2023 5:00pm – 9:30pm
The 200 Foundation along with Bay State Brewery of Worcester, MA is proud to announce that this year’s 2023 honoree is none other than John “The Chief” Bucyk. John, as I am sure many of you may know, is a former professional hockey player that played for the Boston Bruins. John has been associated with the Bruins since his retirement in 1978 in one way or another and has been with the Boston Bruins for over 66 years. He manages to give back to the community in various capacities. One of these charities, The Children’s Glaucoma Foundation is very near and dear to his heart. John has been the recipient of many NHL awards such as the Lady Byng Memorial trophy for outstanding sportsmanship in both 1971 and 1974, the Lester Patrick trophy for contributions to hockey in the U.S. in 1977 and was also named in 2017 as one of the 100 Greatest NHL players of all time. As a player for the Boston Bruins for over 21 years, John’s #9 jersey was retired in 1980 and he became a member of the NHL Hockey Hall of Fame in 1981. As of the 2023 season, John has been involved with professional hockey for 69 years and is the longest tenure hockey player on record. We are extremely proud to call John a longstanding supporter of the 200 Foundation family.
Each year, the 200 Foundation seeks to increase its giving to many local charities, including food pantries, counseling centers for children and adults, addiction treatment organizations, programs for the mentally and physically disabled and many more. Only with the continued generosity of supporters will we be able to achieve this goal. After almost six decades, the 200 Foundation continues its service to our community. As an all-volunteer organization we place virtually every dollar raised back into the community.
In addition to honoring John Bucyk, we are pleased to make it known that Bay State Brewery will be producing a limited-edition IPA that will feature John’s name and likeness on each can. We look forward to your attendance at this special event which will be held on October 18th, 2023, at the Bay State Brewery & Tap Room located inside the Worcester Ice Center, 112 Harding Street, Worcester MA.
Please join us for a wonderful evening that will feature both a live and silent auction, headliner comedian and dinner. We humbly request you consider the sponsorship opportunities listed below for this exclusive event.

A message of thanks from one of our recent events
Hello Dan,
It was a pleasure meeting you a few weeks ago at our WPS Family Academy on August 23rd. We were so grateful to the 200 Foundation for the donation of 250 backpacks- all of which were distributed to families at the Parent Academy!
The Parent Academy was organized by the Office of Family & Community Engagement and was an event targeted to families who recently immigrated to the United States. The event was focused on four different communities- families from Haiti, Latin America, Afghanistan, and Brazil- and workshops were facilitated in four different languages to educate families about the WPS and help ensure families and students are ready for the new school year. Families were so excited to receive backpacks that day and children loved picking out their own colors!
Again, thank you so much to the 200 Foundation for supporting our families! Below please find a picture from the distribution.
Best,
Casey Starr
